The Sunnmøre mountains is one of Norways most classic areas for ski touring. The alpine peaks and proximity to the sea makes it one of the most stunning areas for ski touring in the world. Proximity to an airport with frequent flights to Oslo, and several European airports, makes it easy to get there. There are also one major ski resort, the Strandafjellet resort near the village Stranda, which makes it possible to combine lift based skiing with ski touring. There are peaks and trips for all levels of skill and experience. If you want to do ski mountaineering and climb the needles in Molladalen or do forest skiing in Bondalen, we can do it all.

Highly qualified guides

All guides working in Breogfjell are qualified IFMGA Mountain Guides (callled “Tindevegledere” in Norwegian) or approved in Norway by Norsk Fjellsportforum. They also know the area like their own pocket. For ski mountaineering we only use IFMGA certified guides or aspirant guides.

 

DAY o
Arrival day in Ålesund. We pick you up at the airport in the afternoon and drive to Sagafjord Hotel at Sæbø.

DAY 1
We will drive up to the valley of Standal, which has plenty of ski tour options for all levels. The most famous peaks in from this point of departure is Sætretind and Kvanndalstind, both alpine and steep and which require expert skills. The spectacular pinnacle the “Finger” is another option, its lower sheltered slope usually offers good snow and are suitable for all skiers.

DAY 2
If the conditions permits, we will hike from the Hjørundfjord all the way up to the alpine and rugged “Randers peak” in Molladalen. In the evening we will take the ferry across the Hjørundfjord and drive to innermost part, Øye, where we will get installed in the famous hotel Union Øye.

DAY 3
This day we will ski one of the peaks around the Patchel hut, either Smørskredtind or Brekketindane. We will spend the night at the hut.

DAY 4
We will ski “Slogen” (1554 masl), the famous peak that overlook the Hjørundfjord, and then ski down towards the fjord. We will then drive you to Ålesund.

You can fly to Ålesund Vigra Airport from Oslo, Copenhagen, London and Amsterdam. We will pick you up at the airport with our minibus. The mountains are only one hour away from the airport. If you do not want to buy our all inclusive package and just hire a guide from us, you can also rent a car at the airport.
