Touch the glacier
Touch the massive glacier
Haugabreen Glacier is one of the most accessible glaciers in Southern Norway and can be enjoyed by both the younger and older family members. The glacier is situated in the western part of the Jostedal Glacier Nationalpark not far from the E39 (the Western Norway Highway). On the way to the glacier your guide will tell you about the role the glacier has played in forming the landscape and the traditional use of the glacier. You should have some experience with trail hiking and a minimum of physical condition for the one hour hike to the glacier.
This is a shorter trip where you will get close to the glacier in a safe manner. We bring a few ice axes, and everyone will have the opportunity to walk on the ice and to see and touch the large ice crystals.
This tour takes about 3,5 – 4 hours.
Minimum age 8 years.
Note! This is not a glacier trip where we walk on the glacier with crampons and ropes. Interested in a glacier walk? Check out our: Haugabreen glacier walks
