Haugabreen glacier walks

A blue ice adventure for the whole family!

Haugabreen glacier trekking

Hagabreen Glacier is one of the most accessible glaciers in Southern Norway and can be enjoyed by both the younger and older family members. It lays in the western part of the Jostedal Glacier Nationalpark not far from the E39 (the Western Norway Highway). On the way to the glacier your guide will tell you about the role the glacier has played in forming the landscape and the traditional uses of the glacier. You should have some experience with trail hiking and a minimum of physical condition for the one hour hike to the glacier.

We adapt each encounter with the glistening blue ice crystals according to the group’s requests and weather conditions so that everyone in the team is given a unforgettable trip.

Minimum age 12 years.
Meeting point: Explore Sunnfjord in Skei.

Latest booking within 19:00 the day before.

Note! Interested in a shorter glacier experience where you can touch and take photos of the glacier?  Check out our: Touch the glacier tour This tour suits also for the youngest glacier explorers (minimum age 8 years.)

Accomodation
There are plenty of nice places to stay in Jølster. You can choose from several hotels like Thon Hotel Jølster and campsites. Jølster Tourist Information (Esso Skei) has a good overview of accomodation deals.

Food
It will be possible to buy food in nearby foodshops the day before. You must bring your own packed lunch.

It is easy to get to Jølster by public transport from major cities such as Bergen, Trondheim and Oslo. Breogfjell has a mini van that takes 7 people from the meeting point to the start of the tour in Haugadalen, thats about a 10 minute drive. However, if the groups are full someone in the group needs to drive their private car to the starting point.
